So much strange & crazy

One journalist's musings about the beautiful, bizarre world in which we live

In the Forest Temple.

DAY 6, NOV. 13 – 14 DAYS UNTIL THE WEDDING

Redwood National Park. There are some huge, interesting trees here.

Surprisingly quiet and void of wildlife – at least visible signs of it. Other than the “watch out for bears” warnings, I haven’t seen any indications of animals within the woods.

We camped out near the ocean. I did not know waves could be so loud.

I lived with this until I was 18. I thought you lived near the ocean on Vancouver Island and Gabriola? It would send me to sleep.

The waves on Gabriola and Vancouver Island were soft whooshes from the sheltered Georgia Straight. These waves were direct from Japan.

I feel like I should be pressing a “like” button. The waves at night were my favourite part of camping in California. That and the bunnies that seemingly followed us everywhere.
